Goldfish
They're cute. They're pretty. They don't do much.
When teaching myself technologies, I prefer not to just aimlessly mess around. I learn better when I have a project in mind, even if a useless one.
Goldfish are the fruits of my autodidactic lessons, as I learn JavaScript libraries or conduct CSS experiments. They're little toys or ideas, ones whose purpose may be more clear if you view the source code ("oh, he's dynamically averaging CSS color values"). I'm also sure that, in a year's time, I'll find much of this code to be embarrassingly naive, but that's the learning process.
Most of these use no images; instead, I've been testing the limits of Unicode glyphs.
